SCENE STUDY & CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Learn to breakdown scenes quickly and pick up hidden information. Know which questions to ask as you learn how to create your character, find your back-story, and develop emotional extremes
WORKING BEYOND THE WORDS
Some of the most dramatic moments in film are when nothing is being said. Look beyond the words on the page and find your true purpose in the scene. Communicate your feelings using non-verbal skills.
BLACKOUT
In order to respond truthfully, you must listen to what is being said. Half of the information in your scene comes from the other character lines...which you cannot see.
EXTREME COLD READING
The basics of film acting: Listening, Connecting and Working "In the Moment". This exercise demands that you work moment by moment. If you stray, the scene falls apart.
IMPROVISATION
Learn to think on your feet. Quick and confident answers are crucial during your audition. Be ready when the casting director says “just do something”.
AUDITION EXERCISES
Audition techniques include slating, working to the camera or with a reader, understanding the camera, and the overall commercial casting process. How to deal with various audition scenarios, hitting your mark, dealing with scene partners, and how to exit a room.
COMMERCIAL AUDITIONING
Learn to break down the copy and emphasize what is important, read as a spokesperson or with a scene partner. You can not be self conscious when performing commercial copy. It may seem silly at times but...SILLY SELLS!
COLD READING AUDITION
You must be completely natural and believable or you won’t make it to the second round. Make strong and bold choices concerning your character and learn to take adjustments. Understand how to handle both ‘Good’ and ‘Bad’ audition scenarios.
UNDER “5” AUDITION
Under 5's can be some of the hardest auditions. Even though you only have a few lines, you must develop a well rounded character. Learn to look between the lines and find the hidden information.
EXTREME COLD AUDITIONING
Learn to work confidently, even when you haven't seen the copy. You must listen or you will not be able to respond truthfully.
HOSTILE AUDITION
You can not count on having perfect conditions to perform your scene. You must be ready for any audition situation, good or bad. Learn to focus and take control of any situation. You can not let anything keep you from nailing your scene.
THE CALLBACK
What every actor wants to hear! How to audition the second time around. Important information on what “To Do” and “Not To Do” when the Job is on the line.
COLD READING & CALLBACK AUDITIONING
An Intense night of auditioning. Working at performance level will help get you to the Callback. Learn to handle the quick turn around time of a same day Callback.
